Fortnite News and More: Inside Our First Two Episodes
A look back at Late Night Vision's Fortnite News and More: the Marvel season trailer, how Fortnite began, cheating in tournaments, and a top-10 skins list.
Before Late Night Vision went back to regular streaming in the fall of 2024, Day Vision and Night Vision tried something new: a talk-show segment called Fortnite News and More. Both of the first two episodes went up on the Late Night Vision YouTube channel on August 12, 2024, and each one runs about half an hour. Here is what they covered.
Episode 1: The Marvel season is coming
The first episode doubled as the channel's return announcement: regular streams would start again on September 14, 2024. Then the hosts dug into the Fortnite news of the moment.
- The Chapter 5 Season 4 trailer. They watched and talked through the Marvel-themed season trailer, including War Machine, Doctor Doom, Mysterio, and a banana version of Wolverine, plus new items like Captain America's shield.
- Battle pass skins. Night Vision walked through the list of battle pass skins and the levels where each one unlocks.
- Last call for free rewards. They reminded viewers to finish the Fall Guys quests before the season ended.
- Wish list. Day Vision pitched an idea for letting players pick one favorite Mythic before a match, which turned into a friendly debate about how item shop purchases should never give an in-game advantage.
And, of course, there was a dad-joke segment.
Episode 2: Where Fortnite came from
The second episode opened with a history lesson from Night Vision. Fortnite began as Save the World, a cooperative game about building and fighting zombies that launched in 2017. After another battle royale game took off, Epic Games added the 100-player battle royale mode that turned Fortnite into a worldwide phenomenon.
Cheating ruins it for everyone
One topic got a serious answer. After a run of reports about cheaters in paid tournaments, the hosts agreed: cheating "takes the fun away from everyone else." They explained that cheaters risk losing their accounts, and that players who suspect someone can report them by username or through the replay system. That same attitude is part of LNV Play's Game Rules: play fair, and do not cheat or exploit the game.
Night Vision's top-10 skins
The episode closed with a countdown of Night Vision's favorite skins. It started with Shadow Ruby, the first skin he ever unlocked, and went through Star-Lord, Peter Griffin, Groot, and Blaze. Two spots went to custom Superhero skins recolored in Late Night Vision blue and purple, the same colors you will see all over LNV Play today.
Why it matters for LNV Play
These episodes show what Late Night Vision is about: talking with the audience, not just to them. LNV Play is built on that idea. When the next stream goes live, watch for the five-digit code and jump into the arena.
