Some channels take the holidays off. Late Night Vision spent the last day of 2024 doing what it does best: playing Fortnite live with the community. The New Year's Eve stream was later split into several videos on the Late Night Vision YouTube channel, so you can relive the whole day.

The New Year's Eve playlist

The stream was uploaded as a series of parts, each about 15 to 50 minutes long:

  • Countdown to the New Year: Fortnite Celebration, shown above
  • Fortnite: New Year's Eve Gaming Party
  • New Year's Eve Fortnite Bash
  • Fortnite Fun Before Midnight
  • Epic Fortnite New Year Countdown

Three full-game Victory Royale recaps came from the same day. We cover those in our Victory Royale recap post.

Playing with viewers all day

The format was the one regulars know well. Whenever a squad spot opened, viewers typed !play in chat to join the queue and then hopped into the next match with Day Vision and Night Vision. Between drops, the hosts asked everyone what they were doing to celebrate, and whether they would make it to midnight to watch the ball drop.

Chat also earned channel points, called Vision points, just for hanging out, and the hosts handed out bonus points to everyone after a win.

A milestone to celebrate

There was something extra to celebrate: the channel had just passed its 400-subscriber goal. By the end of the day the counter was past 410, and the hosts were already talking about the road to 500. For a family stream built one viewer at a time, that was a great way to finish the year.

Keeping it family-friendly

With a busy chat on a holiday, the moderation settings mattered. The channel's chat bot repeated a simple reminder: keep it clean, no cussing, because this is a family-friendly space. There were also plenty of lighthearted moments, including a very sneaky player hiding as a bush in someone's kitchen.

That same approach shapes LNV Play. There is no player chat inside the game, players get generated family-friendly names, and the Game Rules are short and clear.

Your turn

Holiday streams are the most fun when more people can play. With LNV Play, a host can open a room for up to 30 participants, including optional bots, and nobody has to wait in a queue for a spot. Watch the next Late Night Vision stream for the room code and enter it on the LNV Play home page.
